I, Dr. Peter Omonzejele (Associate Professor in Healthcare Ethics and Policy) welcome you to the Department of Philosophy and Religions. The Philosophy programmehelp students develop their own capacity to reflect intelligentlyon questions of fundamental and lasting significance focusing on the ideas of some of the world’s leading philosophers as well as on empirical understanding of their own society. Efforts are also made to explore and incorporate African philosophical ideas in various ramifications of thought.
The Religions programme is designed to create a teaching and learning community, to impart the appropriate skills, breed wider knowledge, behavior, values and attitudes; to promote the pursuit and advancement of truth. The programme aims to provide students with special skills in the three fields of the study of Religions; namely, African Traditional Religion, Islam and Christianity.
Academic staff in the Department are involved in all aspects of research in Philosophy and Religions. Our academic staff are well motivated and very research oriented.
